Shots!

See her blue "Crayon" bandages? All 4 of them? She had her first set of shots today. I was stressing out all morning long about it. My poor baby was going to be poked with needles!

All 3 of us went to the doctor. I decided to leave the room while she got her shots, because the doctor kept talking about how she was going to cry and scream etc.

The doctor had her physicians assistant help her. John held Maddie's arms down and the two ladies were at her legs. They counted "1.. 2.. 3.." and they poked her. John was looking down at her face and she was looking up at his and she started to scream. Worse than she had ever screamed before. John cried a little bit with her but the doctor didn't know. He just kept looking into Maddie's eyes.

Thirty seconds later they were done and John picked Maddie up. And guess what. She stopped crying. Just like that. On the car ride home she was cooing and playing with her hands.

I guess it hurt us worse than it hurt her. Her crayon bandages sure are cute!

Terrible. Reminds me of my days working in the lab. The only thing worse than sticking a baby is sticking a toddler.
