Baby names..

I didn't really feel like posting about this.. the name we have chosen for the baby, that is.. but I'm going to go ahead and do it anyway. I was hesitant because I have heard stories from experienced mothers about how they'll announce the babies name and people will be brutally honest and tell them how horrible they think the name is. I myself have already experienced this! I told one friend the name we chose, and her reaction was a very loud "I don't like that! It's terrible!"

So if you don't like the name we have chosen, please keep your displeasure to yourself and just call the baby by her name. Thanks! :)

ANYHOW, the name we have chosen for the baby and is about 99.9% going to be the name at this point is Annaliese. There may still be some variations on the spelling, though. (It's pronounced "Ann-uh-lees").

I was hoping to have a German or German-sounding name for the baby, and this name does the job. John and I also think it is very pretty sounding. Good thing the baby ended up being a girl, cuz we were not agreeing at all for boy names!

So here's the problem. We are having trouble coming up with a middle name that sounds nice with the first name. We talked about our mothers and grandmothers names and they are all 3 or more syllables long. It just sounds funny to us having a long first name with a long middle name too, at least for the names we can think of.

John's sister suggested that, since we are giving her a German first name in honor of my heritage, we give her a red-neck middle name in honor of his. Ha! Funny stuff. Though Annaliese Dixie-May sounds nice..

Suggestions please!

I like it! Whatever you choose for her middle name, it CANNOT start with an "S" - just think of what her initials would be!

I think Annaliese Jo Sutton would be cute.

Or Annaliese Beth Sutton.

Or Annaliese Joy Sutton as a variation to the Jo. But I like Jo better. Since she will most definately be tomboyish.

oooh, that is a good addition to the name Jenn. I also like Kaye. Or how about Faye after my first cabbage patch doll?

I love all the suggestions! Keep them coming! My cabbage patch kids were named Della Garnette, Cecile Bianka, and Harry Craig.

Jenn.. I hope you were not deprived of ever owning a cabbage patch kid. Don't you know they come with those names on their adoption papers? :)

Jenn, that middle name genie is pretty fun! Thanks!

Since you guys are doing the doll name thing, you can always use the name I had for MY doll....Esmerelda! Or the other doll name I had - Kunigunde. On the other hand, maybe not. That kinda sounds like something from the movie "ROOTS".

Um.. Mama? Good thing you didn't have those in mind when you named Teetor and I!
